Genuine GM LS1 Cylinder Head Bolt Kit Pair 12498545 – Early LS1 (1997-2003) Fitment

Factory replacement Genuine GM head bolt kit for early LS1 engines (1997-2003). Part 12498545 is the OEM torque-to-yield kit with non-equal length bolts. Sold as a PAIR (two kits) to service both cylinder heads. For later LS1 (from Jan 2004) engines use 17800568.

Fitment:
- Suits early LS1 engines (1999-2003) with Gen III unequal length head bolt design  
- Fits Holden / HSV Models (Early LS1, 1999-2003):
- Commodore VT (1999-2000), VX (2000-2002), VY (2002-2003), early VZ LS1 models
- Statesman / Caprice WH series (1999-2003) 
- Does not suit LS1 engines from 2004 on, which use the shorter “equal-length” bolt style  
- One kit services one cylinder head; sold here as a PAIR (2 kits) for a complete engine set  
- OEM factory replacement for stock rebuilds or rebuilds where proper head bolt stretch / clamping is essential

Important Note:
These bolts are **not equal length**. They are specific to early LS1 engines and must be used where original bolt design is required. Bolt stretch is single-use; always replace with a correct matching kit.
